I have just sailed on Carnival and we love cruising but want to try Princess instead how do you book? I did the Carnival PVP and I think we were ripped off compared to what others paid. Also we are thinking the Princess Carribean or Emerald, does anyone know which decks have cabins above and below them? Any other ships people recommend??

The best thing to do is to get ahold of a TA that you can trust. If you e-mail me I can give you the one in which I use and reccommend. As for the deck plans you are asking for you can get on the Princess web site http://www.princess.com and check out the deck plans for any ship in their fleet. Sorry to hear that you belive you were ripped off with Carnival. I was just talking to a couple who came back from a Carnival cruise and said never again. I like to stick with the winners.

Hi,

We have cruised on RCL, Carnival and Emerald Seas, but decided to try Princess this time. We booked a balcony on Coral Princess for December 10th. 2007, their 10 day cruise to the Panama Canal, . When I booked our room, I did not realize that a lot of the balcony's are not covered. We had to change our room, thank goodness there was one left., So if you decide to get a balcony and don't want to be out in the sun, weather, etc, be sure to call Princess first and ask if the room is covered or not.

I tried 2 Carnival cruises (including my first ever) and then moved to Princess for the last 7 or 8 cruises. I've been on the Caribbean Princess twice and had a great time. Plenty of entertainment, dining options, freshwater pools, great gym and MUTS. I haven't been on the Emerald but I think you can't go wrong with either one. Just choose your favorite itinerary.
