aqhacruiser Posted August 16, 2007 #26 Share Posted August 16, 2007 DH was wondering... We're headed on Freedom this weekend and definitely want to try our luck at the Casino a few nights. Are there some nights that are better than others? Also, is smoking allowed in the Casinos? the FIRST night!:D
TahoeBob Posted August 16, 2007 #27 Share Posted August 16, 2007 Assuming the progressive jackpots are reset, that still doesn't lessen the chance of winning, it just reduces the amount that'd be won. Yes, that would have an overall effect of lowering the payout percentage, but the odds of hitting the combination of symbols that triggers the progressive jackpot is constant and independent of prior resets. As hard as it is to believe, if the machine has just paid out a progressive jackpot, the odds of getting another progressive jackpot on the very next spin hasn't changed and would be just as (un)likely. :D after working in the casino buisness for over 8 years at Lake Tahoe all I can do is repeat word for word what you said about slots. its all true! WhenIsOurNextCruise Posted August 16, 2007 #28 Share Posted August 16, 2007 I'm guessing the first night and last night because more people are playing on those two nights. That being said, we were on a 14 days cruise that had a progressive on the $1 video poker machines. Started at $4,000 and built all the way to $6,000 with out hitting. I was thinking they had it fixed so that it wouldn't hit - and then they would reset it between cruises. On the 12th night at 1:00 I was playing Texas Hold 'em and my hand started itching - which always sends me to a video poker machine. I ignored for a while, but finally told everyone at the table that my itching hand was telling me to go win the $6,000. I walked up to a machine, put in $100, had the casino guy come by and tell me "closing in 15 minutes" - and in about 5 minutes hit the Royal for $6,200. Everyone from Texas Hold 'em came to see because they couldn't believe it! I really couldn't either. Trust that itchy hand!
Vegas Vic Posted August 16, 2007 #29 Share Posted August 16, 2007 Video poker questions: Can anyone pass along the pay tables for JOB, Bonus, DB,DDB or any of the various Dueces games? We'll be on the Mariner in particular, but any VP info would be appreciated.
