I can't believe I'm asking this...

With my wedding only three days away it seems that I can't remember anything - significant or not!

So my question is, can you pay with cash at the shops on the ship or do you have to use your S&S card? I know - easy question - but for the life of me I can't remember the answer.

FI and I always like to buy each other a little something as a surprise, but since our S&S cards will be linked together we'll both be able to look on TV at the charges we've made. Kinda ruins the surprise, ya know?

No cash is accepted anywhere on the ship, except the casino hehe. You have to use the S&S card with any purchases made on the ship at any store. Only way is to have separate S&S cards set up so you would have to put in that card number to view the purchases for that card. The trick would be not letting each other view the purchases made.

Good luck and Congradts!!

Don't fret, that practice will end in about 4 days.

Honestly, one of the best things about being married (from the male perspective) is not having to constantly assert your feelings toward each other. Of course it's important to do so once in a while, but "always like to buy each other a little something as a surprise" turns into "once in a while"... and even then only if you can afford it. Saving up for the house, or fixing up the new baby's room, etc, trumps that pretty quick IMO.

Congratulations on your up coming wedding...We are getting ready to celebrate our 1st anniversary in 39 days!!

On the ship, you use your S&S card for everything except for the casino and you can also use cash to buy bingo cards or add them to your S&S...It's really quite a convenience.

As for buying eachother something special, you still can because even though you use the card and they can see it on the bill all it will say is where it was purchased, not what was purchased. For example if you buy something in the gift shop it will come up on the bill as The name of the gift shop and the amount spent, not what was bought. Same for the bar it will say the name of the bar and the amount, not which beverages were purchased.

So, you can still buy eachother something without having the surprise spoiled!!

I wish you and your husband love and happiness in your upcoming marriage!!

First I wish you both joy, contentment and much laughter in your life to come. Personally, I hope neither of you lose the desire to suprise each other with something meaningful, whether it be a small trinket, a quick note or a simple hug. Never take things for granted and always put your marriage first and the rest will follow. God Bless!

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! I highly recommend the institution of marriage. We just celebrated 25 great years.

Looks like you have a nice honeymoon planned too!

Really, not being able to pay with cash is sort of nice. Less stuff to carry, no pockets full of loose change.

It does make clandestine purchases a little more difficult but unless your FI isa fanatic about checking the account.

Have a great cruise and more importantly a great marriage! Here's my one piece of advice.

Argue naked, it's pretty hard to take things too seriously. :D

Boy is that ever true! It's cute to read about honeymooners, though. :)

Two cruises ago, when making a purchase at the jewelry store, the clerk asked if we wanted the purchase to go on our S&S or a different credit card. On our last cruise, I wanted my ship jewelry purchase to go on a specific card (not the one we used for the S&S) and the clerk said "no problem."

I don't know if this is just in the jewelry store on the ship or if you can do this in either of the shops, but it is worth an ask. I don't think they will take cash, but they were fine with my credit card.

S&S only! If it must be a surprise you'll have to pick something up before you leave home, or rush from the gift shop and give the present immediately.

Happy wedding, marriage and cruising!!

Payd:)
