Drury Inn New Orleans???

I just booked this hotel for our Oct. pre-cruise day, does anyone know anything about this hotel? The reviews read very good, and I did stay at one up north and liked it, keep my fingers crossed!

I've stayed there a couple of times and was pleased with it. Recommended it to others a couple of times too, and they also had good experiences.

we just stayed there for our aug 6th cruise. it was really nice. very pretty rooms. staff was all about customer service. we had a free parking for cruise plan. that made it real nice. taxi was $15 for 2 to cruise terminal. hope this helps

We are staying there pre-cruise got a great rate of $79. per night, I have used these hotels up north and they alot to offer for the rate. Ask for the promo rate it dropped the price by $40. per night.

Stayed pre-cruise last week-end at the Drury Inn on Poydras St. Reasonable priced, clean, good location, would ceratinly stay there again.

Secured parking lot, $15 per night for parking.

I've also made reservations here based on great reviews, and I called the hotel to specifically ask about free parking during the cruise. The hotel representative said that parking is included; I sure hope so!

I called the hotel back today adn the lady on the phoen verified I would get free parking.

No we didn't have free parking, but we didn't book under any cruise deal either. Don't plan on walking to the ship, it's to far for that.

 

The only problem that we had was when we returned home and checked our CC statement, I had booked everyone with my CC and they charged my sister for parking after we left. She didn't have a car so she shouldn't have been charged, was taken off the same day I called no problem once I expained they didn't have a car there. We all paid in cash for parking at check-in it seems we should have been charged when we checked- out, so you might want to clear this up before you leave.

 

I think you will enjoy your stay, it's a great hotel for what you pay.

my family and I Will be staying overnight in New Orleans in Feburary 2008 the day before our cruise and we wanted to walk to Bourbon street for dinner and to see the French Quarter, will it be safe to walk back to the Hotel from the French quarter after dark? It doesnt look like very far, 4 blocks or so but am unsure on the neighborhoods that you are going thru?

 

any info will be greatly appreciated!!!

When I called they said the parking was free for the night(s) you stay but not for the seven days you are on the cruise. if that could happen, I would book them because it would be worth it then!

Okay, I reread prior posts and see some said they got free parking for the duration so I called again, spoke to a nice person named Lauren, gave them the special code for the cruise package, and she put me on hold for a minute. When she came back she said we would get free parking for the cruise. So that IS a good deal. Free breakfast and free drinks the evening before (but I doubt I will be hanging around the hotel then!!) I will be out and about in NOLA! I love this site!

Don't forget the name of the person that told you about the free parking, I am surprised that they offer that the parking lot is quite small for a hotel.

4 blocks is about right, I would and did walk to the FQ is the daylight, not sure about doing it at night. But if it's a group you should be fine. Check with a taxi couldn't be much to take one back.

I got that same deal! I cannot wait.. I have called twice to make sure and both people (2 different ones) have said I get free parking and the code is listed in my reservation :D Only 83 days left!
