Shoes in dining room - Carnival boys 8 & 10

On our November Carnival Cruise, I plan on packing pants, nice polo shirts and dress shirt/tie (formal night) for the dining room. I am however debating the shoes. Has anyone had their sons (mine are 10 - 8 & 3) wear tennis shoes to the dining room? This would alleviate buying and packing dress shoes for all of them that they will not wear at home. I would even consider the hiking type tennis shoes that I would get more of my money's worth - see picture below. They live in their sandals and flip flops, so I would have them for port days. The tennis shoes I would have them wear on and off the ship instead of packing.

thanks

I think the shoes you suggest are just fine.

Some kids were dressed very informally on Valor last year. We fly from the UK for our cruises so the baggage is limited for dress shoes - our son had something similar to you.
