QV - Why?

Beyondships

I would also have to agree with the majority of the original post. I actually am warming up to the Queen Victoria profile, but not seeing many pcitures is not helping. She does appear to be the best looking of the Vista class so far. Far better proportions than the Costa Magica I was last on. I just have a hard time with the squared off stern. They did quite a nice bit of trickery with the fake sheerline with the black on white hull which evokes the familiar QE2 sheer. Take a look at the plain bow of Arcadia; they are the same. I would like to see an overall shot where you can see what the additional length accomplished to the balance of the ship.

Quite simply, Carnival did something Cunard had not done on its own- catered to a more American audience. I'm sure noone will argue that a majority of cruise passengers are American, although this number is changing now... the old Cunard seemed determined to be set in its ways, which would have ultimately led to its demise.

First let me say welcome aboard. You will add plenty to the discussion, I am sure, Nd learn plenty. too. Np matter how much you know about Cunard, you will be dazzled by the knowledge of some of the folks here. Most of them very modest and matter-of-fact. It never ceases to amaze ,me!

Second. i guess I am not your typical American. I had 4 Cunard trips in the mid nineties, and was on one of the ships when the line was sold (Was on another of the ships when that SHIP was sold!)

Karie,

For a list of ships and lines about to be sold, just check my itinerary! <G>
