Vancouver Disembarkation

Fire and Ice

Recommended Posts

I've read on other posts about RCCL taking your luggage and checking it at hte airport for you!?!?! How does this work? How can I set it up? We have all day in Vancouver once we get off the Radiance and rented a car but don't want to carry our luggage around with the 7 of us. Any thoughts or suggestions?

We were on Radiance Aug 17-24.

During the cruise they give out a form where you need to indicate how you'll be leaving the ship (on your own before 8AM, or what flight time, or if you're staying in Vancouver, etc) which they use to prioritize disembarkation times (and give you color coded luggage tags for departure). They also provide the option to sign up for luggage valet service ($20 per person) where they give you specially coded luggage tags and your boarding pass (you have to give them your flight info). Most of the major airlines participated in this service. I'm assuming this would work as long as you're not staying overnight in Vancouver.

They pick up your bags (as well as everyone elses) at midnight before you arrive in Vancouver, and you never see them again until you arrive in the US (no dealing with customs or anything).

2 of us had a 3PM flight and signed up for the shuttle transfer directly to the airport, which bypassed the 1.5 hour line to get a cab out of Ballantyne Pier.
