80's Lady Posted August 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2004 Cruising Mariner 9/26..I'm shopping for port excursions. What do you recommend..Dolphin Touch Experience OR Dolphin Encounter Swim...which has more interaction...there is quite a price difference..with the swim..are you actually 1 on 1 with a dolphin or are you just in the water while trainers are working with them??? what have your experiences been with this? Thanks in advance!
Karen Carney Posted August 26, 2004 #2 Share Posted August 26, 2004 The dolphin encounter swim is by far the best and worth every penny. You will have some alone time with the dolphin and be in the water while the others in your group are having their turn. Probably 45 minutes or so in the water. I have never experienced such an amazing time in my whole life. There will be a video taken of your group and many pictures of you and the dolphin available for purchase. Enjoy!!! daveky Posted August 26, 2004 #3 Share Posted August 26, 2004 Agree with Karen Carney, the swim with dolphins is the way to go. The dolphins swim right up to you in the water and you can touch them. They have them do several tricks in the water such as a group of you holding up a bar and dolphin jumping over your head over the bar. Great experience, afterwords you walk thru sort of an outisde zoo showing a shark, stingray, birds, snake etc. Fun for both kids and adults and very safe. Have fun, Dave in Ky

debscruise Posted August 26, 2004 #5 Share Posted August 26, 2004  I booked a dolphin swim in ocho rios. I bought a waterproof camera for myself but found out you cannot use it. Can you make a deal with the tour guide to use it even if you were to purchase the pictures from them as well? debra
ss-sunset Posted August 26, 2004 #6 Share Posted August 26, 2004 I did the dolphin swim as well in Ocho Rios but would probably recommend waiting till Cozumel to do it again. It seems like the one the Cozumel is better and has more one on one time.
