We woke to another beautiful day. We woke up early to have breakfast at the buffet and stake out a spot for glacier watching. More on that later.

 

Thrusday Morning: See previous review for spa. shops, photo gallery times. At 8:30a.m. there is kickboxing. At 9:30a.m. is spinning class. At 10:00a.m. there is informal bridgeplay. They put order forms in your stateroom if you want to order Salmon to be shipped to you. You can return your form from 10:00a.m. until noon to the Port and Cruise Consultant or the reception desk in the grand atrium. The shore excursion desk is opened today from 10:00a.m. to noon. At 10:30 there is power yoga. If your interested in jewelry shopping in Ketchikan you can go to the atrium between 11:a.m. and 12 noon to the grand atrium and get a $99.00 voucher to buy Emerald and Diamond, Ruby& Diamond or Shappire Braclets for $99.00 in Ketchikan. If you want to prevent aging and have a beautiful skin youy can go to the seminar in the spa deck 11 aft. At 11:30a.m. there is an abs and butt class in the Fitness Center on deck12 aft.

 

Lunch: You can have soup at the Grill from 11:00a.m to 2:00p.m. They also have grilled favorites each day here such as hamburgers, hotdogs etc. You can get Sushi & Dim Sum in the Ginxa from 12:00 to 2:00p.m. You can go to the Versallis from 12:00 to 2:00p.m. There is an international vegetable table in the Market Cafe from noon till 3:00p.m. Complmentary ice cream is served every day in the Barong Spa juice bar from 1:00 to 500p.m. Or you can go to Tosiders on the pool deck and get Hagen Das for a fee from 10:00a.m. till closing. Whenever that is. If your still hungary you can have snacks in the Market Cafe from 3:00 to 5:00p.m.

 

Afternoon: At 1:15 there is a slide presentation on Glacier Bay given by a park ranger. We attended this and it was good. At 2:00p.m. there is informal bridge play. At 2:30 there is a shore excursion in depth breifing on Ketcikan, Victoria and Seattle. At 2:30p.m. ther is a golf putting tournament in Gatsby's on deck 6 midships and a Grandparents tea party in the Star Bar deck 13 midships. Grandparents, get out those pictures. Unfortunatley we missed this. At 3:00p.m. thereis a lecture on nutrition in the Fitness Center deck 12 aft, and an art auction in the Carousel Nightclub, a Ketchikan Port and Shopping talk with Shawn and Martin in the Spinnaker. If you still want to book that cruise you can make an appointment to do so from3:00 to 4:00p.m. at the Port and Cruise Consultant on deck 7. The shore excursion desk reopens from 3:00 to 5:30p.m. If you want to know how to treat cellulite while losing inches and detoxifying you can do so at the Spa at 3:30p.m. There is a Junior Star Seeker sign up in the Star Bar deck 13 midships. The casino opens at 3:30p.m.. From 4:00 to 4:30p.m. thereis a basketball tournament at the basketball court on deck 14 aft, a cruise bingo giveaway in the spinnaker, a slot tournament, you can get kKetchikan discount cards in the atrium,and if you want to learn the professional secrets on how to achieve great styles and beautiful hair go to Garsby's deck 6 midship

 

Evening: We ate in the Endless Summer tonight. If you ask for enchiladas you will recieve two HUGE burrito looking things filled with chicken and whatever. They were a bit spicy my husband said. I had the fajitas. They were good also. They bring you salsa, chips, when you sit down. You must try the chocolate cheesecake. It was heavenly! The veiws are fantastic. The service was slightly inferior to the dining rooms or the other alternative restaurants we ate in.

 

There was a live @five show in the Red Lion Pub with Kieron and Clint. They have an audience and you can phone in for prizes from your room. Ar 5:00p.m. there is friends of Bill W. and a lower body conditioning class. At 5:15 there is a future cruise presetation in the cinema deck 12 fwd. From 5:00 to 6:00p.m. there is a blackjack torunament. From 5:00 to 10:00p.m. you can have professional portraits taken. At 5:30 yoga. At 5:45 pub team trivia. You can walk a mile at 6:00p.m. Thre is an international buffet in the Mrket Cafe from 5:00 tp 9:00p.m. and tonight is Italian night in the dining rooms begiing at 5:30p.m. Then later snacks are being served in the various venues mentioned in Part 3 of my review. You do not have to make reservations for the main dining rooms only the Endless Summer and La Trattoria. From 6:00 to 7:00p.m. you can see the Port and Cruise Consulatnats on deck 7 for certificates to get 4- carat diamond tennis bracelets & pair of diamond studs for only $999.00. From 6:30 to 8:30 the shore excursion desk is open. From 7:00 to 9:00p.m. you cna use your free pull slot voucher inthe casino. Tonights show featuers Jane L. Powell in concert at 7:30 and 9:30p.m. She is great. I was somewhat dissappointed that she did not have her own band like she did when we saw her 5 years ago. Get to the Spinnaker early becaues tonight is the Comedy Showtime at 8:45 and 10:45. And they have the usual karaoke, dj disco events. See my previous review. Today's movie is Scooby Doo2: monsters unleashed at nboon, 3:00p.m.,6:30pm.m & 8:30p.m.

 

Friday Morning: At 9:30a.m ther is morning trivia in the Pub. At 10:00am informal bridge play and games or gabbing if your staying onboard in the Library.

 

Afternoon: 1:00p.m. All Aborad. At 1:30 is a Russian Art Seminar in the cinema and a Klondike Sailaway party with the Ironics. At 1:45 a Flower Comb Art making class in Gatsby's. The shops are open from 2:00 to 10:30pm. At 2:15 Yogalates- yoga moves mixed with pilates moves. At 2:30pm ther is a golf putting tournament,a destination lectur in the cinema, and the casino opens. At 3:00p.m theres is bingo, future cruise bookings. At 3:30 there is an art auction. At 4:00pm a slot tournament, a Exclusive Results Program in the Fitness Center, & the shore excursion desk opens from 4:00 to 7:00pm. At 4:30 - a blackjack tournament. At 4:45pm there is a debarkation breifing in the theater. BOO HOO!!

 

Evening: Tonight is a Madi Gras Buffet and the Presidents Dinner in the dining rooms. At 11:30-12:30 is the Chocoholic Buffet in Versallis. At 5:00pm friends of Bill W. in the boardroom deck 12 fwd, 5:00 to 7:00pm. you can book future cruises, and 5:00 to 10:00pm portraits taken. At 5:30 yoga. At 6:00pm pub team trivia, walk a mile, From 6:00 to 8:00pm is ladies night in the spa with fruit and champagne for $39.00. At 6:15 a Sabbath Eve Service in the cinema. At 7:00pm friends of Dorthy meet in the Star Bar and you cna use your spin to win vouchers in the casino. Do not miss this evening's production Cique Asia in the theater at 7:30 and 9:30pm. There will be standing room only at the first show. I don't know about the second. This features the Chinese Acrobats! Get to the Spinnaker early for the Star Seekers Talent Show at 8:45pm and Liars Club with the comedian at 10:45pm. This will be a busy night. Today's movie is The Prince and Me at 7:30 & 9:30pm. Good Night!

Alonzo, I thought the main dining areas (no reservation ones) have a different menu each nite. Do the other two non paying restaurants have the same menu each nite or do they also have a changing menu? Did you happen to check out the exercise room? Was there an extra charge for the yoga and spinning classes?

You are doing a super job with this review. I am so glad I don't leave until the 4th of Sept. I can't wait. :)

pcann: thanks so much for your knid words. I hope people do get something out of these. To answer your question about the restaunts, the alternative non paying restaurants have the same menu as the other alternatives aboard. They do not change. The only ones that change are the two main dining rooms. The gymansium in my opinion was one of the best we've seen. It is very large and had windows. There is a $5-10.00 charge for spinning and yoga & yogalates ( combined yoga & pilates moves). You can check out the gym and spa on embarkation day. I hope you have a great trip!
