Over charged on sail & sign card

Well, it seems to be reported on here on increasing bases. If you don’t care to have it called a practice, Rob, that’s fine with me. I have never been under charged on a cruise yet.

And you know this, how? Do you seriously keep a log of every drink you buy over seven days and then tick them off one at a time on your S&S statement?

Sounds like many passengers just accept an overcharge of a few dollars because it's too much of a hassle to go through Carnival (either onboard or from home).

Multiply the posts on this thread where people were overcharged by how many thousands of passengers are onboard Carnival ships right now, and you've got hundreds of thousands of dollars in extra charges.

No wonder they continue to do it, and stewards forge signatures for extra tips, and create false "cleaning fee" charges...it's become a lucrative source of onboard revenue !

If this is such a rampant source of "lucrative" income, why don't you guys all band together and file a class-action suit against them for defrauding you? Better yet, why do you all keep going when you know they're only out to rip you off?

I definitely check my statement on every cruise. I'm surprised that there are people that don't. To me that would be the same thing as not checking a credit card statement.

Texalana :)

I keep all of our receipts and check them off of the final s&s statement. I also do this with my credit card statements & receipts. Call me OCD but it has worked for me for quite a long time! Seriously :D

Make sure to check your sail & sign statement to your credit card statement.

Good point, I'll do that next time.

We never take anything from the in room bar, but we do open it and remove the contents to keep our things cold.

Thanks!! I'm glad to hear they reimbursed you.

Payd:)

The name signed wasn't even my name so, the waiter wrote down the wrong number. They need swipers for the cards:D

It would be nice if they had swipers.

I was on the Sensation in March and wasn't sure on the exact amount of my bill, but had a general idea. After a winning night in the casino on the last night, I decided to pay it all off in cash. I went to the pursuers desk and did this, I thought.

I wake up the next morning, my statement says $502. I kind of shrug it off and figure it was printed before I paid my bill (I left the casino at like 3:30).

Well, as I am just about to leave the ship I dig through my pockets and find the receipt from the payment I made the night before. The lady at the pursuers desk had transposed the numbers and credited someone else's account the money.

Sooo, I had to wait in line about 45 mins to talk to anybody and when I told them the situation, they kind of gave me the "Oh S&%$" look. After talking to two different people who both asked me twice "Are you sure you don't know this other person and were just paying there bill for them?" (That was a serious question every time), they found that lady whose bill I had paid and we got it straightened out.

My question is, do you think I would've been as lucky in figuring this all out if:

1) I didn't realize this until after the fact with/or without the receipt>

2) The lady who received my charitable donation wasn't still on board?
