Shanafan Posted September 12, 2007 #26 Share Posted September 12, 2007 I just go to the casino and get money on my sail and sign card. That way I get double points on my RCCL visa. Always pay it off every month, or it wouldn't be worth it.
Dialemic Posted September 12, 2007 #27 Share Posted September 12, 2007 I brought about 800 in travelers checks. No fee. And if it gets stolen or lost no worries.
Rare TPKeller Posted September 12, 2007 #28 Share Posted September 12, 2007 For those who may be new, and still prefer to tip in cash, the Cruise Tip Calculator will help you figure out that part of what you need to bring! Theron
southerngoose Posted September 12, 2007 #29 Share Posted September 12, 2007 Hi! If I bring a few $20s, will the purser charge a fee to provide 1's or will they break a $20 for free? Since I'm cruising to Barcelona, I don't anticipate using USD anywhere but the ship.

ranger-red Posted September 12, 2007 #31 Share Posted September 12, 2007 We usually bring a 100 bucks a day. We end up with enough on the card from the sea pass account, but it is well worth the cost.
skisteamboat Posted September 12, 2007 #32 Share Posted September 12, 2007 We only take about $200 and if we need more, we use an ATM in port. Our Credit Union does not charge fees for cash withdrawals or currency conversion. We save any left over foreign currency as an incentive for the next trip. In fact, we still have our Oyster Cards from last year's trip to London. Cheers
