lallx4 Posted September 13, 2007 Author #2 Share Posted September 13, 2007 Ok I thought I would ask again. If the French side has timeshares or not?The Big Booper, Kal, or Snoopy leogirl can you help me?
gtaylor Posted September 13, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 13, 2007 Well, you didn't ask me. Sorry that I missed your original post. I'm only aware of one timeshare on the French side. We have Canadian friends who have stayed there. They rated it as acceptable. It's located in a nice, but out of the way, location. The trips over the hill each day can be a killer. Do you have any specific questions that aren't resolved in the link? gary
m steve Posted September 13, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 13, 2007 most time shares are around Oyster Pond just below the French border and near the airport on the Dutch side. I think the French side has one around Simpsons Bay.
kal Posted September 13, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 13, 2007 There's only one timeshare on the French Side and it's similar to a Motel 6. All the others are on the Dutch side with the vast majority at or near Simpson Bay.
lallx4 Posted September 13, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted September 13, 2007 We have stayed on the Dutch side in Timeshares (Flamingo, Royal Palm & the Pelican) but we really love going to the french side especially Orient Beach so that's why I was asking. We are Interval members and in our book there is nothing listed on the french side. Someone had mention there was a timeshare on the french side but didn't know the name of it. Thanks to all to responded to my question with any luck we will be back in St. martin real soon.:D

m steve Posted September 14, 2007 #8 Share Posted September 14, 2007 The timeshare at Oyster Pond is the closest to Orient Beach. About 10 minutes or less. They are part of Interval. I Plan to stay there soon.
lallx4 Posted September 15, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted September 15, 2007 M Steve- have you ever stayed there? Is that the hotel thats to the left at Dawn beach (as your facing the water)? How is it now that the new hotel is up? Is that a Marriott?
gtaylor Posted September 15, 2007 #10 Share Posted September 15, 2007 The timeshare at Oyster Pond is the Oyster Bay Beach Resort. It is, indeed, II, and it's very nice. It's longer than 10 minutes to Orient, whichever route you take. The new Westin is at the opposite end of Dawn, so has little impact on OBBR. The Westin looks more like a prison than a Caribbean Resort. gary
m steve Posted September 15, 2007 #11 Share Posted September 15, 2007 In the past I've stayed at a hotel in Marigot that is now a nursing home, a Villa at Green Cay Village and 2 houses in Terre Basse area. We have a lot of points to use up.
lallx4 Posted September 16, 2007 Author #12 Share Posted September 16, 2007 Of all the timeshares in St. Martin which is the best? Like I said we have stayed at the Flamingo, Royal Palm and the Pelican and we liked the Flamingo the best. But we know there are alot more timeshares there so we'd like to get an idea of which ones you all like the best. Thanks for all your help.
