How does the sea princess compare to the coral princess?

We cruised on the coral princess last year for our honeymoon. We loved the ship.

 

We're now looking at booking a cruise on the sea princess. I notice that the sea princess is even smaller than the coral.

 

Has anybody been on both? Can you tell me whether the sea princess feels much smaller? And how they compare in terms of decor/service?

We have been on the Sun and the Dawn, which are twins (triplets?) to the Sea, and we have been on the Island which is a twin to the Coral.

The Sun and Dawn do not have the Bayou Restaurant or Sabatinis. They use part of the Lido for the Steakhouse at night. It is separated from the rest of the Horizon Court by removable screens. It feels as if that entire deck is missing from the older ships. The balcony cabins have much smaller balconies on the Sun/Dawn, and they are cut into the side of the ship rather than being terraced out of the ship. The mini suites on the Sun/Dawn are like full suites on the Island, but they are priced as such too. The mini suites on the Island were much more affordable. There seemed to be more activities on the Island. That could have been the difference in Cruise Directors. I took a pottery class on the Island and was looking forward to doing so on the Dawn, but they did not offer that. The Island had an indoor pool and an outdoor pool. The Sun and Dawn had only outdoor pools. If you check the Princess website, you can compare pretty easily.

All that being said, the Island is our favorite ship, but we did enjoy our trips on the Sun and Dawn. They are all beautiful ships, and the service was equally good on all. We thought the food was a bit better on the Island, but that is all subjective.

I am not that familar with Coral Princess. However, I thought Sea Princess was a nice ship. She is targeted to the UK market and thus the majority of passengers are from the UK. In my opinion there is no comparison, the Coral is a well managed and pretty ship, we were on her this year (Feb) the Sea is getting tired and it shows, we were on her last Feb 06, again in my opinion, she is not as well managed as the Coral. She is taget.

She is targeted to the UK market, we didn’t like that we prefer to holiday with a good mix of people. Which ever you choose have a great time
