Carnival - Smoking allowed in cabins?

On my first cruise, we had a smoker next door - we couldn't smell anything but on the deck I was out there several times when he was smoking. After the first time, he leaned over the partition and said "I always smoke at this time with coffee". I have no problem with that - there are PLENTY of hours a day to sit on my balcony...I can avoid the one hour he spends enjoying coffee & a smoke!

 

I'm glad to see you were able to work it out where neither your cruise experience or his was affected. I have no problem giving smokers respect as long as they give it in return. Like most things in life, you get what you give. It's the handful (and all non-smokers have run into them) that feel rules do not apply to them :(. NCL appears to have to walk a balance beam here and I think their rules seem ok to Gwen and I, provided our room does not reek of smoke. Otherwise, we can live with the smoking rules they've set. Now, if we had planned on going to the casino (which we don't) that may be a different story ;)

 

Bear in mind we've never cruised before, so I'm going on the assumption that smoking "on open decks" won't be an issue. I guess we won't really know until we return.

Non-smoking is the way to go! All cruise ships should implement it in cabins and dining areas. And, really, no irons in the cabins but you can have lit cigarettes???? Silly......
