Ok...

So, I've got the formal thing down. No problem. (and NO, I don't mean jeans)

But what does a 29 year old girl wear to dinner the rest of the time? Pictures of examples would be good. I can't figure out what I'll wear... and if I need to do any shopping, I'd better get to it. Winter coats are already filling the stores!

Thanks!

I'm a 33 year old guy. So my suggestion for a 29 y/o girl is a bikini!:D :D

You can wear slacks and a nice blouse, dress, skirts. If you are going to go shopping at least buy something that you will wear when you get back.

If you would wear it to church it is fine for all other nights....

If you would wear it to work in a Corp office it is fine for all other nights...

If you would wear it out to a club with the intent to attract every guy in the club and have their dates throw their drinks on you because of exposure... It is Not ok for every other night!

Do not go buy a ton of outfits you will never wear again.....

I was joking too, I can't believe that you thought that I was serious:eek:

Sorry! SPent a little too much time in the formal night thread today. That is where reason and common sense have been completely abandoned and people specialize in missing the forest for the trees!

I just picked up this dress at Target for $19...pics don't do it justice, it's adorable & I've gotten lots of compliments on it. My DF loved it so much I went back & got the second one. Just under $20 and can be worn pretty much anywhere. I figure it's a safe choice for the dining room!

My 24 year old daughter wore mostly casual dresses and skirts (very cool & comfy, of course). I thought she was a little more dressed, I usually wear capris, but I think that dresses or skirts are more "in" now for the younger set. Don't forget to bring something to go over your outfit. The dining room can get kind of cold and the temperature can be different throughout the ship so keep it simple and cool. Enjoy.

not sure about carnival...i've seen "sparkly" stuff - tops & dress slacks/skirts/capris on non-formal nights.

We old fogies like to get dressed up :) don't get out as much as we used to lol.

i'd rather be "setting the bar" than ducking under it when it comes to dress, just makes me more confident & comfortable.;)

what i'm wondering about is what is the "norm" for sea days (when you aren't wearing a bathing suit & coverup) say in the casinos, DR for lunch?

I am 30, and I am bringing dresses... I bought them at places like White House/Black Market, Banana Republic, J. Crew, BCBG, etc. They're all sleeveless sundresses. Some are the kind you can either dress up with jewelry and heels, or down with flip flips. Most of them are summer wedding or engagement party appropriate. Not many of them would make the "church" cut.

I also am bringing a couple of pair of slacks from Express, one black, one white to go with satin sleeveless tops. I might not wear these, but I'll have them.

Stay away from that thread it will make you nuts, you are leaving on a cruise in three days YEA.

Have a wonderful cruise, and please bring pack pictures. I love to read the reviews, but I love to see those fabulous pictures of the ports that everyone goes to.
