Easy fishing

the easiest place would be ketchikan. the salmon weren't running when i was there...but you can rent poles and fish from the boardwalk area, around creek street.

but the river runs right through ketchikan, when the salmon are running you walk through town and watch the salmon at the same time:D

In Juneau, there's a fish shack by the salmon hatchery, DIPAC, where you rent poles and I assume you're given a temporary license. It also has hot dogs, hot chocolate and such. The fish hatchery is worth the tour. You can either take a bus tour, or the city bus, which I assume would be cheaper.
