Topless on the Victory, Valor or Glory

SHHHH! Telling DH about me going to the topless deck is the only thing that keeps him from complaining about booking our second cruise before we have even taken our first.

In fact Celebrity has a new commercial out, and I find it hit the mark at lest from my point of view. The thing that got my attention other then the David Bowie music and the appealing graphics and images, is that it is CLEARLY NOT aimed at families or kids.

The Adult only deck or it being ok to go topless on that deck is just part of the ongoing family-fa-cation of anything “Adult Only”. As it is now, an “Adult Only” pool/ hot tub are a joke. Carnival "claims" there will be an "Adult Only" area with the update on the Fantasy class ships... I will believe it when I see it! It might have signage stating that it is an “Adult Only area”, but will it be enforced? I doubt it.

Celebrity seems to actually be courting ADULTS in its new TV commercial, not a kid or “family” in sight… just adults, hmmmmm that would be a breath of fresh air.

Las Vegas FINALY figured out that it being a “family” destination was bad for business. Now I do see a need for ships and Cruise lines that cater to kids and Families, however, surely the market can support ships that cater to adults.

Recent Glory report....

On the 8-25 sailing the Adult Only deck was just that... tops were in short supply, and one day it seemed as though it was "clothing optional". No one said a word, it was quiet, no kids, not too many slimy "looking for Cuba" dudes

(or so I was told, that's my story and I'm sticking to it :D )

This is what I'm asking. Did the Glory (or the other ships I mentioned) turn the topless deck into an adult only deck? I don't really wish to book if they don't at least have an adult only deck. I'll find another cruise line.

thanks,

I will say that I just assume that I can go topless on the adults only deck. Our last two cruises still had the tarps up so I felt comfy doing that. One father did come up with his tweenage daughter and was offended so I rolled over. The couple next to me told him "hey, it's 21 and up, if you don't wanna see this don't bring your daughter up here!"

We had college girls to women easily in their late 60s topless everyday.........

Yes, they have done away officially with the wording "top optional", however, many people have reported that they have gone topless with no problems...

My last Valor cruise there were a couple of ladies on the deck where you get on the slide.....sorry can't remember the number. Definately not the funnel deck. Anyway, they were topless. The Carnival guy bringing them drinks didn't say a word.

I have nothing against families.... I have one of my own.... But that is an interesting observation that LV has discovered.... and the ships will probably also discover.... that mom and dad probably do not drink as much in the bars or spend as much time in the casino (the big profit makers) when they have kids in tow.

Good point...........We have a 7 day cruise coming up in late Nov. with family and friends, and then , just the wife and I , have a 7 day cruise for NYE. I wonder which tab will be higher?..........I'm guessing the NYE cruise...........
