Places to stay in Fairbanks

There are actually a number of nice places to stay in Fairbanks. We stayed at the Wedgewood Resort last July, which worked well for us as we were a family of four (all adults) staying in Fairbanks for several nights. We liked the apartment style of the hotel (2 bedrooms, plus living room and full kitchen). The resort also offered a free shuttle and free internet.

We have just come back from Alaska 2 weeks ago and stayed at the Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge which was very good had a nice room although we did not eat there.

Should also say it is not in Fairbanks but out near the airport which suited us fine as we had a 4.00am rise for our flight to Seattle the next morning plus we were on a Princess cruise which i believe the hotel is part of the same group.

We stayed at the Alpine Lodge. It is a new place, opened this year. It is right across the road from the airport. It is on the side road that leads back to the Steamboat attraction. Used a tour saver coupon, stayed for 2 nites and paid for 1. Free continental breakfast that included scrambled eggs, meat and waffles. Clean and good size rooms.

Our cruisetour stayed at the Sophie Station Hotel, which was all suites with kitchen, and across the street from the northernmost Fred Meyer (store like Kmart) in the US, also a Safeway. We did our laundry there before the cruise portion. Also not far from the airport, as I remember.

We did an independent land tour in August and spent two nights at the All Seasons Inn B & B on 7th Ave in Fairbanks. The room was very nice, beds were very comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was wonderful. It's probably not the cheapest place to stay in Fairbanks but we would definitely stay there again. www.allseasonsinn.com
