Advice on Transport to ship and back? ME AGAIN!!! LOL

im sorry im asking so many questions, but i JUST found this place and we are leaving Sunday- so im probably clogging this place up with questions LOL You all are wonderful! quick responses and just what I need!

 

We are going Legend, from Tampa.

 

Anyway- there are 6 of us.....5 adults and my son who is 4. whats your advice on transfer to ship and back from the airport? The cheapest thing would be a taxi for 3 and 3?

 

By the way, I have never flown before so Im going to ask another one.....They will have some just waiting at the airport right? to take us?? I wonder if maybe they will have a caravan? we may be able to all fit for one price......

 

My son, being that he is 4....is the taxi going to give us a hard time about not having a car seat? am I going to have to lug one, like luggage, with me, for a 10 minute taxi ride to port???? OH and that brings up a good point- he should be fine in the taxi's at port right???

You should be fine in one taxi. Some of them are mini-vans.you'll find one right outside of baggage claim. I've never tried getting into a taxi with a little one. So I can't answer that for you. Call one of the taxi companies down in Tampa. you can probably find the telephone # at the airports website under transportation. There will be plenty of taxi's at the port after the cruise. Enjoy yourselves!

Here is what Florida Law (2007) states regarding car seats.

 

1)(a) Every operator of a motor vehicle as defined herein, while transporting a child in a motor vehicle operated on the roadways, streets, or highways of this state, shall, if the child is 5 years of age or younger, provide for protection of the child by properly using a crash-tested, federally approved child restraint device. For children aged through 3 years, such restraint device must be a separate carrier or a vehicle manufacturer's integrated child seat. For children aged 4 through 5 years, a separate carrier, an integrated child seat, or a seat belt may be used.

 

Some taxi/shuttle companies will offer a seat if you call and make a reservation for a small charge. They will ask the height and weight of your child. You may want to consider this if you child is on the smaller side.
