Visa for Egypt

Wondering if anyone can help. We are planning an overnight to Cairo with a group (not purchased through Princess) and wondering how we go about getting a visa. Will Princess do this or do we need to before leaving?

We are doing the same this November, and from what we have been told by others that did this same overnite last year, Princess arranges the visa, you don't need to do anything.

Q: We will be taking a cruise of the Mediterranean. As one of the port of calls, we are stopping for the day in Alexandria, Egypt. We know we need to have a visa for Egypt, even for the day. Can we get the visa when we arrive in Alexandria--at the pier--or do we have to get it ahead of time at an Egyptian consulate in the US before we depart on the cruise?

A: Please get the visa in the US before you leave.

Visas

Required by all nationals referred to in the chart above except the following:

(a) 1. EU nationals traveling to Sharm El Sheikh, Dahab, Newiba or Taba resorts for up to 14 days. They will receive an entry permission stamp upon arrival;

(b) those continuing their journey to a third country within 24 hours, provided holding confirmed tickets;

© cruise ship passengers entering Egypt, at any port, for a maximum of three days.
