hi duck, we took a cab to governors, they put about 8 people in it,but it had a/c...i asked some guy about the tram, he saidi had to get tickets on the ship? he didnt know what i meant. the little tram sits at the edge, like a train at the zoo..ask the driver if he stops at governors, some of them go to town. which may be nice to see too..next time i will explore more, not much there but we did have time..when u get to governors..u will think.. OMG what a dump. hahaha they r working on things around there. its just like all the islands, nothing new and shiny, just plain, very plain. but...when u get int he water..nice. the sand is white, and the trees are up by the little snack bar. but for $5 its great.. u can walk down a bit too, facing the water, go right. there is coral, walk a few minutes..this is where the guy took the carnival pax that paid $32....its great, we cant wait to go back..there r alot of fish in the big rocks at the beach too..the shopping area isa joke..it is nice and clean like st maarten, but carnival built it. pricey, booze is cheaper onboard! i bought 2 boxes of candy..my cc bill shows $20 carnival...i boguht it on gr turk..the t-shirt i wanted was $25...no thanks just a basic t-shirt with a fish on it. not nice think material. margaritaville was so crowded with people. we would have liked to go ina nd jump in the pool and have a drink, glad we didnt, i just read soemones post that his margarita was $14.77...not this ol bartender.. it is pretty but no thanks.. hope this helps..

Thanks beachgal, it sounds like just what we are looking for. The Carnival developed pier area isn't are kind of beach or shopping! We hope to get some photos so that we can compare to the "next time" when all of the "improvements" are made.

rucruzin, we too were out of much happiness. love how u word things..my steak the first night was a joke as well. i ordered something else. the food was so-so...i tried to call room service one time.hahaha kept getting the we r busy right now...i did like your dh, made many trips to lido ont his cruise. i never did use the thingy on the door this cruise. i cant imagine what we would have received. haha we were on riveria, good thing i have experience carrying trays of food...up/down several times a day..

hi standby! we didnt think much of the cruise either. i can imagine what u guys thought, u have so many cruises under your belt and your wifes experience with cruising! we have sailed several carnival ships, this was by far the worse ever..we loved half moon and gr turk, beach bums that we are. we did have a nice time, i am glad we took this cruise, but the ship sure needs help!! and the food, even the pizza was just there..

we did meet alot of nice people including you/wife its always fun to have a few pals around, but we r checking into rccl and ncl for our next cruise..cant take carnivals same thing on every ship routine..i have sailed the destiny, the triumph is set up like her, what a mess. cant get to where u r going, always a dead end..i hope u have a nice cruise in jan! im sure u will...and with your wife...upgrades and perks maybe!!! the couple that cruised with us will be sailing the spirit in april to hawaii, we declined..cant take another one...cindy

My wife and I thank you for your kind words, we tend to keep ourselves to ourselves, and because of our "take" on the cruise did not want to inflict our views on others onboard, my wife said that it is an old trick to cover up sewage smells with strong paint, maybe that is what they were doing, but to use an english term, the Ship was very seedy. Perks, it was funny that we were met getting off in Miami by our friend who is a Captain, Constantine the Maitre D in the LOndon rooms had sailed as a head waiter on one of the ships he Captained in the Med ( Constantine came out to meet him in Miami) and even with him knowing my wife was an ex Maitre d , he did his best but the food was terrible. hope we all meet up again, no cruise I have been on has ever been perfect, but this was in a different class. I have posted a brief revue on the British page, as it is from a British perspective. kind regards to you and your husband

hi standby! constantine was the most energetic maitre d we have ever had, usually they introduce themselves and thats it..this guy walked around and spoke with pax and we saw him on lido shaking hands with people lying in the sun..he told jokes too. that was a first for us..nice guy. i dont remember ever returning a meal on a cruise, this time i returned 3.. makes sense about the paint smell!!! eeewwwwwww...the last sea day, the toilets did not flush about 1pm....i guess alot of calls went through, things were in working order by 3:00 but...the rest of the evening we could smell septic tanks...glad it happened on the last night. the chemical smell was horrific! very strong, we were sleeping one morning, it woke me up, i was dreaming we were being poisoned, worse than any airplane glue or spray paint i have ever expierenced..we love cruising, and i will sail carnival again but not any time soon...like u say..seedy...i have a celebrity brochure on the way! maybe i should try princess as well. nice to have met both of u, i wish we would have known each other felt this way onboard! coulda gripped about it together over a cocktail...or two...we really didnt get involved in anything either, just casino and a few shows..loved the beach is what i can say..take care, cindy
