tnr Posted September 26, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2007 I have only snorkled a few times, and always from a boat. I am now considering doing a shore snorkel in Bonaire but I don't know if I would like it as well. Can anyone tell me what to expect?
LoveCuracao Posted September 26, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2007 we live on curacao for a while and would never use a boat to go scorkeling on the abc islands. great corals and fishes you can see by just walking into the water. but it`s good to use a boat to go to one of the small snorkel islands, like little bonaire or little curacao, where a walk in is possible two. jimw Posted September 27, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 27, 2007 You will want to at least go a little ways south or north of town. How to get there-rent a car or take a tour. An alternative is to snorkel from a boat that picks you up at the pier, Renee is reportedly very good. There is good snorkeling most anywhere on the leeward shore of Bonaire, and the just offshore island of Klein Bonaire; getting there is the problem. A boat may also get you to Klein Bonaire, just offshore and worth it. In fact, that's the easiest way to good/great snorkeling. Take a water taxi to Klein and get in the water anywhere. The water taxi is pretty cheap. Take everything you need with you--there are no facilities of any kind on Klein Bonaire.....
