Cruise port/St. Thomas

Recommended Posts

I just went on cruisecal.com and both my Caribbean Princess in early December and my HAL Zuiderdam in mid-January appear under "St. Thomas " NOT "Crown Bay".

For some reason (based on reading prior threads) I thought one of these was supposed to dock at Crown Bay.

Is this a good thing??

newrivercruiser, there are 2 piers in St. Thomas. One is privately owned by the West Indies Company called Havensite. The other is publically owned across the bay from Havensite. It is called Crown Bay. They are both in Charlotte Amalie, the capital of St. Thomas. HAL and Princess have a 10 year agreement to use Crown Bay. You will be docked at Crown Bay both times.

You should look at St. Thomas as that is where Cruisecal puts most of its listings. Also, Cruisecal is not always correct.

Unless there are a lot of Princess and HAL ships in port the days you are there, you will definitely be at Crown Bay, as they have an exclusive contract.
