park car

From what I understand (we will be there in 2 weeks), you can park around the pier, there is apparently a lot, however, it is small. Plus it fills up early. So people have said that you park wherever you can, although some places have no parking signs and the threat of being towed. There is no charge.

Other cc said that they would pick up and drop off their car at the rental place each day.

I just plan on seeing how it goes. If worst comes to worst, we'll just park the car back at the rental company and pick it up the next day. This would require taking a cab, but I don't think its that far, so it shouldn't cost that much. Plus avoid standing in line again to rent the car again the next day.

This site shows some of the parking available.

There are also 2 lots, one across from the market place and one down on pier 5. These two lots do not allow overnite parking. Having said that, we did park there overnite for $25 after checking with the attendant. We did get a note on the windshield the next day about not parking there and if we parked there again, we would be towed. The Pride ships have been docking at pier 2, but that is not written in stone. This is the tentative 2008 schedule, it appears you are docked at pier 2, that's a short distance from the market place but is walkable. Also they run a shuttle from pier 2 to the market place, so you may be able to take advantage of the off site parking.
