danif Posted September 29, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Can anyone please suggest some reasonably priced 4 star $250-$400 per night hotels in Rome and Barcelona? Centrally located. Also any private tour guides recommendations would be fantastic in both cities. Thank you, Danif:)
shoshona2 Posted September 29, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Hi Danif, We are using American Express points in Rome to stay at the Inter-Continental Hotel near the Spanish Steps. If you go to the "Europe" Ports of Call section of this board and put in Rome or Barcelona, you will have so many opinions you won't know where to start. We are using barcelonataxi in Barcelona in November as they came highly recommended on Cruise Critic. Go to http://www.barcelonataxi.com and email them. Don't forget to eat at our favorite restaurant for paella -- Restaurant 7 portes (doors). Their website is http://www.7portes.com We just made a reservation for November. In Rome, we are using Claudio at http://www.limoinrome.com. He came highly recommended by a friend. Have a great cruise. Sheila
shoshona2 Posted September 29, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 29, 2007 Danif, Since you are new to the CC board, I forgot to tell you to use the "Search" mode at the top of the page when you get to "Europe". Sheila
digby Posted September 29, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 29, 2007 We liked the Hotel Colon in Barcelona. Nice room and great location.
jfb128 Posted September 30, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2007 Just to echo Sheila on using claudio@limoinrome. We just returned from our cruise and actually used one of Claudio's business associate's, Vincent for a private tour in Rome. Vincent did an excellent job. He had a large Mercedes mini van but yet was able to maneuver it through the narrow streets of Rome. If we wanted to spend more time at any place he was very accommodating. This is the second time we have used limo in rome and both times they more than met our needs. P.S. Sheila-Best to Irwin

ddcruiser Posted September 30, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 30, 2007 Try Hotel Ponte Sisto. Lovely, near Travestere, everything within walking distance. ddcruiser
