Beachmad Posted October 2, 2007 #52 Share Posted October 2, 2007 Yeah I know. That's what we thought. It's definately a punishemnt not a reward. Being thrown in the brig would be preferable to drinking Pol Acker. I pity the poor unsuspecting first-timers who drink it believing it's half decent, but I do suppose you have to learn the hard way! Eddie Dont pity us, I still remember the excitement of getting to cabin, sorry stateroom and seeing a lovely little bottle of fizz in a champagne bucket with loads of ice and a nifty napkin, we were v. chuffed and were'nt expecting it, course didnt know it would make you look like a bulldog licking p*ss off a thistle when you drank it, still we were 'appy. 534 Posted October 2, 2007 #53 Share Posted October 2, 2007 Chippendales??? Are you kidding??? Be still my heart!! I wonder if they like silver hair??? VERY premature silver of course!!! I could celebrate my birthday on the NOv 10th trip...and do it legitimately too!! Where do I sign up for a visit from Chippendales....of course they don't HAVE to come to the dining room...a cabin visit will suffice :D Wouldn't want them to waste all that energy walking ALL the way thru Britannia you know.... Cheers, Penny Penny’s Affair to Remember QM2 Review http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=471053 November 10,2007...the “Affair” continues.... highcbob Posted October 2, 2007 #58 Share Posted October 2, 2007 And I wonder how many times it had been left? And will be left in the future? Matthew LOL and then LOL again. I usually take one bottle to breakfast for mimosas, then I have to work out what to do with the other two. I tried giving one to the bedroom steward once but even he didn't want it ( smart ). -----edit --- after I just posted this I now see Penny also tried to pass it off the the bedroom steward. Gosh, this stuff is like trying to give ice to an eskimo.

cruisegal101 Posted October 3, 2007 #69 Share Posted October 3, 2007 Alas I know no WagnerExcept Adolf was his pal I always thought the Ring Cycle Was an intersection round Pall Mall I like the sound of Cellos As they trickle onto ice A strange drink loved by cousins The ones that don't chase mice And present themselves on CC As talking cats, and more As ballroom dancers dancing Upon the sacred floor Of the QE2 of fame Of (but not of) Celebrity It's time to consign this poem(?) To eternal eternity. Well good Cunarders rich Not so rich and poor There's a caterwaullin' buidling and a scratcin' at your door. Maybe it's Sir Marin Maybe the obese grey Maybe it's Lord Stanley So grand, so fine, so fey. But maybe it's the bar bill Your bank account to knacker Maybe you shouldn't order Quite so much Pol Acker. Hic. Could you please use the word large in place of obese. HRHugeness is largely offended by the "o" word.:p

There was a suggestion that there could be a "Pol Acker" exchange where the dipsomaniacs could relieve the epicures of a dreadful responsibility. Matthew I don't know that the "dipsomaniacs" would be exchanging anything... seems this would be stictly a one-way street.

No. The dipsomaniacs would relieve the epicures of the responsibility of politely getting rid of the bottle. Definitely two way street. You get the PA. I get the room in the cabin. Sounds like a good deal to me! Matthew
