Has anyone done Kayaking the Straits of Magellan?

We are intrigued by the Oceania tour Kayaking the Straits of Magellan. We would like a little more information. It says "double kayaks in tandem" Does that mean a kayak for 2 people attached to another kayak for two people? I think of it being quite cold and windy at the Straits of Magellan so how difficult is it to control a kayak there?

 

Please reply if you know anything about this shore excursion.

I have not done this, but am very interested in it. So I am posting in hopes of bumping this up and getting someone's attention!

 

I also have another question (and forgive if it ends up being incredibly ignorant) the person I am travelling with is terrified of whales, would there be whales in the Straight of Magellan?

There could be whales, however that is very unlikely. You are more likely to see seals and dolphins! The smell of the comorant colonies will wipe out any fear of whales, trust me!
