jctdlt Posted October 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 4, 2007 How are you doing on the Mariner and the upcoming weather (Krosa).
dougburns Posted October 4, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 4, 2007 Apparently, Capt. Phillipe is planning to come in behind it. The storm is supposed to go ashore and weaken before Mariner gets there.
Donaldm Posted October 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2007 The captain has decided to leave Shanghai at 7:00 am instead of 1:00 pm to avoid meeting the storm head-on. I am sure this is the right decision, but it is disappointing to lose additional port time. Because of the pod problems, I estimate we have already lost about 20% of our port time. Regardless, this has been a fantastic cruise. Right now, we are docked opposite the Shanghai Pearl TV Tower and within sight of the Bund. The river has an incredible amount of traffic and is quite a show to watch. Huge quantities of sand are being brought up the river I assume for Shanghai construction. I highly recommend the Mariner. friedgard Posted October 8, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2007 We will be joining the ship in Sydney. What pod problems. When do they expect to fix them?
dfb Posted October 8, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 8, 2007 Mariner suffered a pod problem last year about this time, I think. It was the end of the Alaska season. The problem won't be fixed before January 2009.
