discount and upgrade

Recommended Posts

Yesterday while checking pricing @ the carnival website I was able to receive $200 our booking with a 2 catagory upgrade for being a past guest. We are sailing on the Freedom Jan 12. I had booked a couple of months ago, an aft cat. 8c and was able to keep my room. So we now owe $1473.00 instead of $1673.00

The same thing happened to us. We leave on Jan 2 on the Miracle and our Balcony (all taxes in) was 1094.00 and then it dropped to 960.00 . I was very happy to here from our TA that day...lol So now our cost drop will cover the tips...lol

I love the Cash and Cat......although some here seem to believe that it can't happen and that people shouldn't count a cat upgrade as money off.

I myself took the cash off my cabins but refused the upgrades because I booked specific cabins.

Gotta love cash back, upgrades and discounts........take what you can get!!

Have a great cruise!!

I booked a specific cabin as well. I was lucky enough to be able to keep it! It just worked out for me!

I have a question about this process. Do you have to go all the way through the booking process as though you don't already have a cruise booked to see the discounts. I have 4 futures booked but the list price on the find a cruise page is always the same or going up a little week to week.

I know that 1st price doesn't reflect past guest perks, so exactly how does everyone go about looking for those OBC opportunities.

Also, if I do get an OBC does it have to be used just as a credit on my S&S or can I get the cash and go to the casino?

All of my discounts were done prior to final payment so there was never an OBC situation, so I can't answer the casino question.

The main thing would be call your PVP or the 800 number and ask to check for reductions/specials on your sailing(s). If you read of the codes here (past guest, military) you punch those into the code area on the website....if it's a valid code, that first price area that you mentioned will show the updated special(cash and or category).

how were able to find this out...we are going on miracle on 2-27-08...4 cabins...the discount would be great..is there a special code?

I just went into my Carnival profile and looked at past guest specials...there is a code that is running that works for the 2-27 Miracle...in the fine print it says CDP1

you look at the sailing at the regular carnival site (as if you are booking a new cabin)...it will give you the current pricing

Arrow back to the begining page and change the code from BCA to "DP1" (you drop the C from the code I gave above) it'll show the reduced rates and cat upgrades.

Sometimes the Carnival PVP will stick with the new bookings only line...call back and ask for a supervisor...tell them "why sould you be penalized for booking early when no specials were offered"...............my carnival guy just makes the changes if they are offered....no problems what so ever.

If you don't have past guest for all cabins, you can rearrange your names to spread out those who are to cover more cabins and then just swap back when you get on board.
