Beth & Rob Posted October 10, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 10, 2007 We are in Venice in a couple weeks and a big group of us from our Meet and Mingle are meeting in the afternoon at St Marks for the tour. We thought we might all like to take a gondola ride aftewards. Can you suggest a particular area we should go that is close to St. Marks How many persons on each gondola? Is it more for them to sing? Is it more if we sing? (lol) Are the prices negotiable. Is it a per person or per gondola? How long is the ride? Is there a great place aftewards for our group to have a beer or glass of wine? I think there will be at least 20 of us. Thanks
readboat Posted October 10, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 10, 2007 I think you can get 6 in a gondola and it is 90 euro on up on the grand canal per gondola. They will discount on the back canal but I don't know about the Grand canal. We found one on the back canal for 75 euro for 4 of us. If you go to a search on this board and put in gondola you will get lots of information. There has been a lot of questions the last couple of weeks. I am sure you will get response today. Have a great time!!
dbh62ark Posted October 10, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 10, 2007 We had a group of 16 from our roll call that took a gondola ride and then went to dinner before our May cruise from Venice. We used the stand that I listed in my notes at http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=625816&highlight=gondola, post #11. We all went to eat together and then made our way to St. Mark's Square to listen to the bands, so it was a great evening in my book. Have a great trip, Donna
