Tender in Puerto Vallarta , How long does it take to get off the ship?

When we went on the Star in Jan. 2005 we were scheduled to dock but when we actually arrived there was a Princess ship in our spot so we had to use tenders. We probably arrived around 8:30. We were in a suite and had priority tickets and we still missed our canopy tour for 10am. The tour office was only 15 minutes away by cab and we tried calling them to tell them that we were on our way but we were late by just minutes. The bus that leaves the tour office to go up to the canopy area had just left. I would recommend doing an 11 or later tour if it is an independent excursion.Luckily Los Veranos had space on the next tour for us or we would have been SOL! BTW I just looked on their site and at the bottom of the reservations page it states " • Cruise ship passengers should book tours that leave from the CANOPY TOUR OFFICE at 11 am or later."
