Who officiates at the weddings on a ship? Does one need a license, and would this be a license from one of the states?

Hi Stanley...we'll see you in Barcelona in less than a week! The license has to be from the state you are getting married in. Since we live in Miami and was married when the ship was in Miami, it was easy for us. The Wedding Experience will help you acquire the necessary license as well if you live in another state.

You can either invite your own officiant as a guest and they can do it if they're licensed in the state, or The Wedding Experience can get you a clergyman of whatever religion you require if you want a religious ceremony, or you can use their own officiant. The one who did our ceremony was wonderful and she was provided by the Wedding Experience.

Mr. Lee....lol...no reverse honeymoon...if anything, it'll bring back fond memories of what a wonderful wedding and honeymoon it was.

Susie...it wasn't weird. These were friends that we met on board a cruise and wouldn't think of cruising without them. We had our private time in the evening, but met up with them and took tours with them during the day. It's always nice to have friends on board...especially during a transatlantic when you have so many sea days.

If you love the sea and the romance of it all, I can't see any better place to be married...and that's why we did it... No regrets whatsoever! :D

We're off to Barcelona today. We'll be at the Hotel Colon for five days before we sail.

I considered this for our wedding, but ultimately decided to just get married on the beach in Hawaii, then have the limo take us directly to the ship.

The wedding on board seemed like a lot of red tape and expense especially when it's SO easy to get married in Hawaii (almost as easy as Vegas)
