Sunshine Gal Posted October 12, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 12, 2007 Just wondering how far it is to the ship's dock from the rental car lot. Is it walkable. Thanks! We rented from them three years ago and they were located in the General Store in Whittier. It is a short walk from the cruise dock and will be on your left hand side as you walk toward town. Definitely walkable maybe about five minutes. Things may have changed now but when we last rented from Avis we were able to drive almost right up to the ship and pick up the rest of our group. lthomas Posted October 12, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 12, 2007 We were there in July. They have no shuttle service so go drop off your luggage and then head to Avis to drop off the car. We ate at a little place around the corner and walked back to the ship. Very short distance.......maybe 1/4 mile???
scmomofboys Posted October 12, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 12, 2007 We were also there in July. It was pouring cats and dogs that day, but they had a covered walkway to the ship and covered area they were putting luggage in right at the terminal. My husband dropped us and our luggage off at the terminal and took the car back. Be prepared for the weather with an umbrella or poncho handy for whoever takes the car to Avis. Just a short but unprotected walk. Took him maybe 15 minutes to drop off car and walk back to terminal. Very easy.
