*Wink* Posted October 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2007 We were looking for a post about coolers on the beach. Is it allowed? If so, what's allowed in said cooler? Thanks for you help!
twinkletoes4445 Posted October 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 14, 2007 I can't imagine you wouldn't be allowed to do this. We stay at a condo on 7MB and we take things from our condo down to the beach area. It's not uncommon to see people walking up and down the beach with drinks in their hands. *Wink* Posted October 14, 2007 Author #3 Share Posted October 14, 2007 Thanks Twinkletoes.. Do you recommend any good liquor stores along the way? Should I bring my own cooler?
twinkletoes4445 Posted October 14, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 14, 2007 I'd probably bring my own cooler (look for one of those collapsible ones-we found one at Wal-Mart), but as far as a liquor store, I don't know where the closest one in the port area would be. When we're on the island, we buy at a place that's near the condo we rent. There's a local that posts (Drew)...he'd be able to tell you the closest place. I do have lots of Cayman info, so I'll look through it this afternoon and see if I can find something close to the port area.

twinkletoes4445 Posted October 14, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 14, 2007 I was hoping I could find a liquor store close to the port area. I'm sure there's one (other than the duty free shops, which won't sell to you if you're going to drink the liquor on the island). There is a Tortuga Rum place right in the port area (to the right of the terminals). I don't know what all they sell besides, rum and rum cakes. We usually go to Big Daddy's, but it's down on the 7MB stretch. I'd say grab a cab and ask the cab driver if he'd stop...but the cabs are those van-types, and I don't know if they stop (if they had others in the cab). If you don't get an answer here...start a new thread and ask "Drew" for help. He lives there and knows everything there is to know about GC. :)
drew sailbum Posted October 15, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 15, 2007 If you are heading up to Seven Mile Beach then the easiest stop is Big Daddys in the Seven Mile Shops. There is no easy place for beer or liquor in downtown except for the duty free shops. And those typically do not sell ice.

Valmoisy Posted October 16, 2007 #10 Share Posted October 16, 2007 How far is Big Daddy's from Cemetary Beach? Walking distance?
twinkletoes4445 Posted October 16, 2007 #11 Share Posted October 16, 2007 How far is Big Daddy's from Cemetary Beach? Walking distance? No, it's not. It's between town, but before you get to the Marriott Beach hotel. Beyond that, I don't remember. All I remember is it's easy to see from the road.
