OceanLadi Posted October 14, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 14, 2007 Has anyone used the Care Vacations Scooter Rental Service, on HAL or another line? I will be renting one for my grandmother when we sail in January and wanted to know if the service and the scooters were good!:D
travelteam Posted October 15, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 15, 2007 We've rented from them several times over the last few years. Never had a problem. The scooter is always in good shape waiting for us in our cabin. We do always bring our own manual wheelchair for use in ports. Much easier to use, and can be folded to go on tour vehciles and taxis. Have a great cruise.

vickila Posted October 15, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 15, 2007 Great company - make sure you give the correct weight so that scooter is not overpowered. Also bring an extension cord (high duty) just in case you can't plug it in at a convenient location. Plugs in every night and recharges easily. If you go to a casino beforehand, or to Cosco, Target, etc., put her on one of theirs so she is a little used to it. Enjoy. Must have an accessible cabin for it to fit through the door. If she can walk, she can leave it in the front of the dining hall, take out key and it will be perfectly safe. Scooter gets left in the room when you leave. In addition, on the paperwork you got faxed to you from CARE, there is a phone number, make sure you bring that with you just in case there is a problem -- you can call from the service desk -- been there, done that! OceanLadi Posted October 16, 2007 Author #5 Share Posted October 16, 2007 I really do appreciate the info from everyone! This helps a lot! My grandmother can walk, so we will just have to remember to take the key when she is in the dining areas or the scooter is left out to charge.:)
