Place of cabin.

Hello,

I want to book a 10-day cruise departing from Fort Lauderdale and visiting Tortola, Castries/Soufriere in St Lucia, Barbados, Martinique with Mt Pele, St Maarten and Half Moon Cay.

Which side of the ship, should my cabin be placed to have a better view, especially at Souffriere and Mt Pele? Should it be at port side or starboard (at the left or the right side of the ship, as we look to the front)?

Thank you in advance,

Victor

Hi Victor,

If you are talking about which side of the ship will face the port it is hard to tell. Ships do not always dock the same way.

It has been a long time since I have been to Martinque and I don't remember if you can see Mt. Pele when the ship is docked but I was on Starboard side and it faced the port. (KK has been to Martinque and maybe she remembers and will post.)

Most Hal ships dock at Castries then leave and go to Soufriere to pick up passengers from a tour. I have been there a couple of times and have been able to see the Pitons near Soufriere from either side of the ship when the ship stops and waits for the tender. On my last cruise that stopped there, I was on Port side and had a great view of the Pitons when we were approaching Soufriere.

You have choosen some nice ports. If you book it, enjoy your cruise. :)
