smurfette101 Posted October 17, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 17, 2007 We're flying in to Miami at around 9:30, and our bus doesn't pick us up to go to the port until 12. Is there any stores where we can pick up some snacks or soft drinks, even wine to bring with us on our Carnival Cruise?
smurfette101 Posted October 17, 2007 Author #2 Share Posted October 17, 2007 no one?
RHefley228 Posted October 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2007 There is no way for you to walk out of the airport and go shopping.
smurfette101 Posted October 17, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted October 17, 2007 Can I not take a cab? Or is there anywhere near the port?
RHefley228 Posted October 17, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 17, 2007 You might want to consider going directly to the port from the airport in a cab, and simply having the driver stop on the way.
eandj Posted October 17, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 17, 2007 Are you leaving from Miami on your cruise? If so, just cab it to the port from the airport and stop at a store on the way. I don't understand why you'd wait for a bus? You'll be on the ship by noon.
smurfette101 Posted October 18, 2007 Author #7 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Yeah we leave from Miami...I was just trying to save costs as our transfers are included from the airport, but I hear the buses don't start until around
gypsyrose Posted October 18, 2007 #8 Share Posted October 18, 2007 It costs $24 for a cab to the port. In my opinion, I would rather spend that then wait over 2 hours for a bus. The cabbie will stop and let you run into a store. If you stay at the airport and catch the bus, there are always little stores in the port that you can get some drinks and snacks. Doubt you will be able to get wine tho.
smurfette101 Posted October 18, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Is it 24 each person? We are a party of 4, plus 4 suitcases.
gypsyrose Posted October 19, 2007 #10 Share Posted October 19, 2007 $24 per cab not per person
smurfette101 Posted October 19, 2007 Author #11 Share Posted October 19, 2007 OH really I didn't know this. This would totally work, and this way we're not at the schedule of the bus! THANKS!
eandj Posted October 19, 2007 #12 Share Posted October 19, 2007 Definitely ask your TA to credit the transfers. Depending on your luggage count, you may need a taxi van, but for sure you won't pay over $30 for ALL of you. Remember that for future cruises. Agents should off the choice up to you. But often they just add it on instead of explaining options. Plus, when you leave the ship you can just hop a taxi back without sitting around waiting for a big bus to fill before leaving. Have fun!
