petesweet Posted October 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2007 In reading the terms and conditions of the RCL credit card, it says, "Cash advances . . . (including purchases of casino gaming chips) do not earn Royal Points." I wonder if this means onboard casinos or like if you go to Vegas? When your Seapass charges are posted to your credit card account, does the casino charge just get mixed in with everything else? or does it get listed as casino? (I don't gamble, but I did request casino cash on our last cruise, and I was hoping I would get double points for that. Do I even get single points?) Sue L Posted October 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2007 It just says entertainment charge and the total was billed as a lump sum not itemized on the credit card. I got double points on the full total.

You should get double points because it shows up as a charge on your seapass bill. The bill is not itemized when it goes to credit card company - just a charge from RCI. And so double points. Kinda nice as long as it lasts......

Kind of like being able to bring a bottle of Champagne or wine onboard until it is abused. If you go in taking out a hundred bucks or two every couple hours and walk right out of the casino for some sort of 'big plans' don't think they won't notice. But yes, your cash taken out from the cashier is posted to your seapass which in turn earns double points on your RCCL Visa card.
petesweet Posted October 18, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Thanks. My "big plans" don't involve hourly withdrawals! I guess "big" is relative!!:p
dixie54 Posted October 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2007 So, when you pay your tips on your sea pass, you get double credit too! Right?

petesweet Posted October 18, 2007 Author #9 Share Posted October 18, 2007 That's what I'm counting on. I have a LOT of onboard credits accumulated from various things (stockholder, VISA card, booking while on board another ship, etc.), and we are not big spenders; so I plan to take money out of the casino to use it up. I realize they would just credit my credit card, but I'd rather get the cash and get double points for future use.
