From what information I did find.....you can't walk to OSJ from this pier....although is it closer to OSJ then the Pan American pier
wrp96 Posted October 23, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 23, 2007 I had never heard of Navy Frontier Pier previously. It is not one of the more common ones used. From what I can tell it is about 10 minutes by taxi from OSJ. I found this description of the San Juan Piers on another website: Pier 1 - A modern two-tiered terminal 770 feet in length. Equipped with pier-side passenger and baggage gangways, elevators, parking and shopping concessions. Pier 3 - Used for transit cruise ships, mainly used by the Royal Caribbean line. Pier 4 - A modern terminal at the north shore of the harbor with a total length of 1,196 feet. Managed by Carnival Cruise Lines. Pier 6 - A marginal wharf with a total length of 1,196 feet. Frontier Pier - A single berth used for cruise vessels and conventional ocean carriers handling open storage cargo. Pan American Pier - A modern, two-tiered passenger terminal with a marginal wharf 2,000 feet in length. Managed by Royal Caribbean International. Note the difference in the description on Frontier Pier against Pier 4 and Pan Am pier the ones more commonly used.
