Skagway Horseback Riding

Does anyone know if it is possible to book the horseback tour and not go horseback riding? There are 3 of us going on the trip and while one of us really wants to go horseback riding the other 2 love the sound of the Yukon Horseback trip minus the horseback riding. I know it sounds crazy but is it possible to do the trip and skip the horse part? Or does anyone know a way to go to emerald lake and book horseback riding there? Being Canadian, we can not rent a car and drive into Canada.

I would imagine that you can be accomodated, since the horsebacking riding is owned by a diff't person than the Yukon tour. Tell them that you don't want to pay for the tour, as you know that it is owned by someone else.

I booked my horseback riding tour through Southeast Tours http://southeasttours.com/index.html
Try e-mailing/calling them and see if you can book the Yukon tour through them (as they're the ones who drive you up) but not the horseback riding part...

I am sure if you get a hold of Southeast Tours and ask them if you can purchase the Yukon photo safari, but go into the Yukon up to the Yukon Horseback, I am sure they could accomadate you. They were great with our group as our grand parents did't want to ride just go in on the ride.

Good luck!

I was going to book through Southeast tours, and had a few in my party that didn't want to go horseback riding. Dave told me he could take them on a photo safari in the area while we were riding for $75 each. Since two were children, I thought this was a bit steep. I ended up renting our own car, and booking the ride directly through yukon horses.

i am renting a car from Avis, and the four of us are horse back riding directly through yukonhorses.com. It is definitely the cheapest way to go, and affords us our own pacing for the day. Joni, the owner is wonderful to deal with.
