Suggestions please! Early arrival to FLL!

Thanks to our airmiles situation, we arrive at 6am the morning of our Zuiderdam cruise, Jan 12th... any ideas for what we could do to kill a few hours... are there any lockers by the cruise terminal where we could stow our stuff for a few hours?

 

What is the earliest we could start checking in at the ship?

You could head down to the pier about 10:30am, the lines can be long from what I've read on here with several ships that will be in with people leaving & then you have folks arriving.

 

Get off the plane, head to the Marketplace & grab some breakfast. I don't know where you can store your stuff, but maybe if you head to the pier early, you can probably drop it off??

Yes, there are lockers at FLL. If you search through posts, you'll find that someone, Bequia I believe, has posted the info in regards to that.

Take a cab to a nice hotel on Ft Lauderdale beach. The Atlantic and the Hilton both have wonderful restaurants where you can have a liesurely breakfast overlooking the ocean. Check your luggage with the hotel bell desk. After breakfast grab your luggage, hop in a cab to the port.

another question, but same topic....if we get a late flight (5:30 PM) after the cruise, could we also check our luggage at a hotel and just hang out for a few hours??

Shouldn't be a problem. Call the hotel before hand directly to see if it's ok.

We are hoping to use Holland America's signature baggage service where you pay $15 per person to have them take your bags and give you boarding passes --- they take your luggage to the airport while you spend the afternoon in FLL and then you just walk right on the plane....you pick up your bags at your final destination!
