Disembark time question for Hawaii

Is it possible to request to disembark at an earlier time? Our flight home leaves at 6:00 pm and I'm afraid they will have being the last group leaving the ship. We are hoping to bus to the airport and pick up a rental car for the day. If were the last off the ship any clue what time we would arrive at the airport?

You can do express which means you have to carry off all of your luggage. Of course, this can be a mad house as many seem to do it.

 

Or, one of you can get off with the express with just your carry on, go to the a/p to get the car, and then return for the others when they get off as their color is called. This way you won’t have to carry all the luggage.

BTW, on my two sailings on the POAl, everyone was off by 9:30. No emmigrations to worry about

Another suggestion is NCL's Honolulu tours. Many people have made great comments about them. They take you and your luggage on the bus around to the sites and then to the airport. You are in one of the first groups off the ship (NCL Tours have priority disembarkation) and you can see the major sites of Honolulu without fighting the traffic and hassling with a rental car.

 

If you plan to see Pearl Harbor, I doubt you would make it any other way. If you get off the ship at 9:00, get to the airport and pick up a car and then drive to Pearl Harbor, you most likely won't get there until nearly 11:00. On many days the tickets for the launch out to the Memorial are all gone by 11:00. (and even if you get there at 10:00, your launch time may be too late for you to make and get back to the airport.)
