Our first cruise we went ahead and put a credit card on our account, the bill was high in the end, the second cruise we went ahead and put CASH on the account instead of a credit card in order to budget IT WORKED GREAT! However it has now been 2 years sience our last cruise and we will be cruising on 11/22/07 on a 4 day cruise Do they still let you put cash on the account? If so How much do they require? I do not remember what it was last time (plus last time it was a 7 day cruise)

Thanks!

You can also use a credit card at embarkation, then once onboard apply the cash toward your balance (we have done this at the middle and end of our cruise). This way, you don't have to wait in that very long Pursers line on embarkation day, and can apply the cash to pay off the balance whenever you have the time.

On our Freedom cruise, I gave them my CC upon check in. Didn't really plan on applying any cash, just thought I'd leave it on the CC and pay it off once home. I won $500 in the casino, though, and rather than blow that cash, I just went and paid off my sail and sign account immediately. :)

As Machman said - You can actually add cash to your on board account prior to sailing, should you wish to do so.

Contact the Bon Voyage department at 800-819-3902 x 70039.

But you will stil need to activate the account with either a Credit Card or a small token cash deposit. Though I was so smart buying OBC in advance, but no-one told me about the activation issue, once I figured it out it took 4 days for the Accounting Department to catch-up with crediting my account with the pre-purchased OBC. Cash for me ever since, plus anything unused I get a check for and can cash it at the Pursers Desk before leaving the ship.
