Hi--looking to surprise my husband when we are in FL, wondering if anyone knows of any cruise lines that do short ( 3 day, 2 night) trips to Bahamas and if you would recommend them? Thanks.

Carnival Fascination and RCCL Majesty leave from Miami for 3 nighters (been on both ships, would recommend either) and RCCL has Sovereign that leave from Port Canaveral. Going on her in January, but the price was the same for a RCCL 3 nighter from Miami vs. a RCCL 4 nighter from Port Canaveral (guess which I chose:rolleyes: ).

My boyfriend and I are planning on going on the 3 day cruise to Nassau on board the Carnival Fascination in August 2008.

Tell me about it! :D

DH and I did this trip in March of this year! It was great - just too short:( It is great to have the overnight in Nassau - gives you a chance to take advantage of the night life there (Atlantis, Senor Frogs). The ship itself it great - the refurb was a total hit:) I actually have a review posted in the member review area if you care to check it out;) Member reviews are a great way to find out all sorts of great info on your choice- no matter what, go with a great attitude and you'll have a great time:cool:

Everyone is correct.....no short cruises from Ft Lauderdale to the Bahamas at this time; Miami has 2 ships and Port Canaveral has 2 ships.

I believe beginning in January a passport may be required. That would make it difficult to surprise him unless he already has one and you can sneak it along.

Mainly the casino and a "Vegas style" niteclub with a big pricetag.

($40 for women $100 for men entry fee unless you have a pass) and bottle service starts around $450.

There are a few areas in the lobby with a bar and open lounge seating (these areas are public, so you can have kids roaming around, also) , and a Plato's Bar in the casino area.

There's a comedy club, not sure of the price (I'm thinking it's about $40, if I remember) and a local band plays in the Marina Village courtyard in the early evenings outside of Bimini Road.

There really isn't alot of Nitelife.. since management really is looking for guests to gamble. It's a complaint that has not yet been addressed.

The Norwegian Jewel is cruising from Miami to the Bahamas Nov. 15 for a 3 night cruise. We are booked and getting excited. Anxious to be with my daughter for a few days. Anxious to see the Grand Bahama Island and Nassau with Atlantis reservations made to be able to have free run of the resort for the day.
