lauren0309 Posted November 8, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 8, 2007 I don't know if the security measure have changed, but we have an early a.m. flight and would rather bring in breakfast from a deli at home than buy at the airport. Is this allowed?
JJPNYC Posted November 8, 2007 #2 Share Posted November 8, 2007 Food - should- be OK. It all depends on the TSA agent you get. Stick with a bagel, a breakfast sandwhich, or something similar and you'll be fine. I've done this many times when having 6 or 7AM flights out of JFK/EWR/LGA. Just stay away from foods with wet toppings or bringing milk for cereal.
greatam Posted November 8, 2007 #3 Share Posted November 8, 2007 Deli food, in the white foam boxes, are seen all the time at JFK. Just make sure it is something like ham/eggs/muffin, sandwich, etc. etc. No milk, no other liquids. They may open the box-so if that doesn't bother you, you will be fine. eandj Posted November 8, 2007 #4 Share Posted November 8, 2007 I'd say bring it to the airport if you want, but eat it after you get your boarding passes and before you go thru security. That way you can bring anything you don't want to purchase. I've seen syrup, butter and cream cheese taken from people carrying in their fast food breakfasts. Coffee, juices, water etc. can get purchased once you go thru TSA.
