Miami airport hotel area ideas

Two of our adult kids will be arriving MIA before hotel check in time. Any ideas of things to do that doesn't cost a lot for a few hours in that area. Is there a shuttle service from there to shopping - beach, etc.?

 

I'm guessing the hotel would let them stash their luggage until there room is ready - if not an early check in. Tks.
