Returned home on November 4. Cruise was outstanding. Paid tours were the best. Self tours confusing trying to read Italian, Spanish and French. Go with the paid tours. Well worth it and guides are wonderful. Dinners on the ship were the best we have ever had on any ship and we have cruised on many ships. Ship has been remodeled and in great shape. Very elegant. Never would know that there are 3000 people on it as it is so huge. We arrived 2 days before the cruise and good thing as our luggage was lost. Got it the next afternoon. Stayed at Hotel Continental Palacete in Catalunya. Really old and classy hotel. Adequate buffet for breakfast, lunch and supper. Includes soft drinks, juices, wine and beer. Really good deal and great rates. We loved strolling around the city of Barcelona. Lots of people but very clean and lots to see. Rome - Tour to Vatican City and Coloseum was fantastic. French Riviera - Tour to Capri was like a dream. Most beautiful island we have ever seen and even better than the beautiful island (St. John, Virgin Islands) we lived on for 12 years. Missed connection going home and airline put us in a nice hotel in Madrid. All meals included with wine on the table. This was the 2nd best trip we have ever had. Switzerland was # 1.
