Cruise Leprechaun Posted November 12, 2007 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2007 We've done 4 family cruises with our 2 boys (now 12 and 10) and have really enjoyed most with the exception of Carnival. My boys tend to get into the kid programs and like to show up for certain activities. On the Carnival cruise we went on the kids activities were a mess, they were always cancelling or changing them (theyd think they were going to a 2:00 Trivia game and then find out that it was changed to quiet Arts and Crafts time). It frustrated us because we couldnt count on them staying on a schedule and therefore we could't do scheduled adult activities. The good news is we have not had this experience with any other line we've been on (Disney, RCL and NCL). My question is now that they will be 10 and 13 by the time they cruise next summer, does anyone recommend a certain line for activities for that age range? We are tentaively planning on Alaska aboard the NCL Pearl because they had good experience with their kids programs plus have the rock climbing and bowling. I am still open for suggestions (still Alaska bound) for recommendation for other lines (not Carnival) that are good with that age group. I am also wondering how that age split will work since they will be in pretty different groups for the first time (I think NCL has the teen group from 13-17) . Any advice would be appreciated.
