any reccomendations for post cruise land tour,from whittier

I would highly recommend RV rental.:) Plenty of room for a family to have elbow room, fridge and restroom 'onboard', and the freedom to choose when and where to stop.

With 4-5 days, I'd choose to concentrate on seeing one area of Alaska rather than trying to pack too much in. South of Anchorage offers plenty to do, from Homer and Seward to Anchorage itself. You can also choose to concentrate on the Talkeetna/Denali/Fairbanks areas, all north of Anchorage. East also has a variety of attractions, though I have not personally traveled that direction (yet!).
