PV Princess canopy excursion or independent?

Hi, the teenagers definitely want to do the ziplines in PV, and I am thinking I may be brave enough to try it myself.

I've read up on all the companies and most of the threads regarding Los Veranos.

My question is: does anyone know which company Princess uses for their excursion. Is there a measurable difference between experiences? The prices for Los Veranos are considerably cheaper, but we would need to taxi to the tour office. Can five travel in one taxi, and is it easy enough to arrange on our own? This will be our first time in Mexico so we don't know what to expect.

Thanks in advance. Sunny

Hi,

I don't know which tour company princess uses, but I can help with the taxi question a little. The price was 60 pesos from the street at the end of the pier (a very short walk) by yellow taxi to the Los Veranos office. This is about $6. The taxi would be too small for 5 full sized people to sit with any comfort. So figure $12 each way to have 2 taxis, or about 5$ pp total for transportation from pier to office and back. Compare that with the price via princess. The taxis are plentiful and reliable. Just be sure to get the Yellow Taxi not the larger vans that are on the pier area inside of the security gate. (don't know why but everyone said this was important)

The cruise lines contract with Vallarta Adventure for their "canopy tour" http://www.vallarta-adventures.com/canopy-tour/index.html

This is a tree top-to-tree top zip line adventure with a final rapple at the end.

The rest are basically zip lines run across a river valley. You zip from one side to another.

I have done both the Vallarta Adventures and Los Veranos tours. Enjoyed both but they are different.

Transportation to the Los Veranos office is a no-brainer. White taxi is $4 US per person to the office via white taxi with yellow taxi back. $6 per yellow taxi each way with up to 4 people per yellow cab.

Enjoy whatever you choose!
